the Mobility Project
“ E-learning - an educational reality”
within in the framework of Leonardo da Vinci II
1st WEEK
Tuesday, 13 January 2004
15 Greek students from our partner school in
Patras, Peloponnesos, Greece, accompanied by their teacher
Vassiliki Dousbi, arrived at the Hotel Althof Retz in the
evening and were welcomed by the Co-ordinator and students
of the HLT Retz. After dinner at the hotel, the students received
folders containing information about Retz, opening hours,
meal times etc in Austria, and important phone numbers, and
the list of the placements.
Wednesday, 14 January 2004
The students were welcomed at the school with snacks and
a cocktail. Subsequently they were shown the winery and cellars
belonging to the school, participated in a wine-tasting, and
had a tour of the school.
After lunch at school the afternoon was free for the students
to explore the town Retz on their own.
Thursday, 15 January 2004
The group went on a sight-seeing tour to Vienna, accompanied
by the co-ordinator. One the way the group visited one of
the work places, the HTL Hollabrunn, where they met the person
in charge of the project and arranged the first meeting.
In Vienna the co-ordinator showed the group the major sights
on the Ringstraße, including the State Opera, the Hofburg,
the Parliament, and the Town Hall. After visiting Vienna University
and a typical Viennese Coffee-house, the group departed for
Schönbrunn Palace, where they had a guided tour through
the Palace.
In the afternoon the group was guided to St Stephen’s
Cathedral and Kärntner Straße.

Friday, 16 January 2004
The group, accompanied by students of the HLT Retz, had
a guided tour of the town Retz including its landmark, the
windmill, and its major treasure, the unique historic subterranean
cellar labyrinth of Retz.
Saturday, 17 January 2004
The group went on an excursion to the region “Waldviertel”,
guided by the co-ordinator and a student of the HLT Retz.
The tour included a visit to the monastery “Altenburg”,
the town “Zwettl”, the Nature Reserve “Blockheide”,
and the town “Raabs”, where the group had dinner.
As an evening programme the group was accompanied to a typical
Austrian ball in the Z2000 Stockerau.
Sunday, 18 January 2004
In the morning the students were shown the train station
and assisted with the purchase of the train tickets they needed
for the transport to their placements. The afternoon was free.
